Coach Prime Makes Big Statement In Debut

In his FBS coaching debut on Saturday, Deion Sanders led the University of Colorado to victory in his first game as the team's head coach by defeating No. 17 TCU 45-42.

At Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas, the game was fiercely contested the whole day, but Colorado prevailed over ranked opponents for the first time since 2019.

The Buffaloes got out to a quick start, taking the lead in the third quarter, 24-14. The Horned Frogs, though, scored two touchdowns without being replied to take a 28-24 lead.

With just over four minutes left in the game, Colorado was trailing 42-38 when Sanders' son quarterback Shedeur Sanders connected with Dylan Edwards for the game-winning touchdown, giving his father his first victory.

With 510 yards and four touchdowns, Shedeur Sanders established the school record for throwing yards. Travis Hunter, a two-way standout for Colorado who can play cornerback and wide receiver, intercepted a ball in the end zone and caught 11 catches for 119 yards.
