James Harden recently revealed how he received a sizable payout after following Kobe Bryant's advise to purchase BodyArmor.
Around 4:40 into the Earn Your Leisure interview, Bryant was questioned about the guidance he received from more seasoned NBA players when he first started playing and whether he has given comparable counsel after 15 years in the game.
He went on to say that he was asked by Kobe Bryant, an early investor in BodyArmor, to become engaged with the sports drink company.

According to him, BodyArmor marked the "beginning" of their joint business aspirations.
When the company was sold to Coca-Cola in 2021, he claimed to have received "a good amount of money back" for the "$500 grand" he had invested in BodyArmor.
BodyArmor was fully acquired by Coca-Cola in 2021. In 2014, Kobe Bryant received more than 10% of the business and made millions of dollars in investments. Bryant's estate received an estimated $400 million from the sale of BodyArmor, which was valued at $8 billion. This amount is greater than the estimated $323 million earned by the basketball legend throughout his NBA career.

Harden honored Bryant, who lost his life in a helicopter accident the year before, when the sale was revealed. He wrote, "We did it bro!" and included a picture of the two of them. "The greatest sports beverages ever made. Wish you were here to celebrate. We still coin hard for you. Much love."
