Josh Christopher a Future Star In Houston

The Rockets' decision to relegate Josh Christopher to the G League early in the season was one of the more shocking decisions of the season. The decision occurred a month after previous coach Stephen Silas stated that despite his lack of playing time, Christopher would not be sent down to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.

Silas attributed the key aspect of his G League assignment to strengthening Christopher's confidence. The major goal for the second-year guard, though, was to get back into a groove.

In five games with the Vipers, he averaged 25.5 points on 56.0 percent shooting from the field.

Christopher finished the season strong as a consequence of the results. Christopher participated in all 24 post-All-Star games, contributing to the Rockets' nine additional wins since March 4.

Silas stated that he and Christopher had multiple conversations and decided that a brief spell in the G League would benefit both sides. And it now looks that Christopher will play a significant part for the Rockets in his third season after spending a second year in the G League. We'll see what this young, swaggy guard has in store for next season.
