Oasis Is Coming Back
Oasis is getting ready to make a major announcement.
The freshly reunited Britpop group posted pictures of massive building ads on social media on Saturday, September 28. The ads included a black-and-white picture of brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher and a preview of Oasis' Live '25 worldwide tour, which is set to premiere early on Monday, September 30.
The billboard campaign has the phrase "Be careful what you wish for," the phrases "Monday, 8AM ET," and the website of the U.K. organization, oasisinet.com.
The locations of the billboards were unknown at the time of publication, however astute viewers in the X (previously Twitter) post's comments area surmised that two of the structures were in Toronto and Chicago.
Oasis pictures that seemed to hint to U.S. dates emerged on billboards around the country earlier this month.
After Oasis announced their reunion tour in late August, two teasers were released. For what will be their "only shows in Europe next year," the long-simmering Gallagher brothers will travel in 2025, playing a number of dates around the British Isles, including Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh, and Dublin.
In the foreseeable future, Liam and Noel have also committed to a longer series of overseas shows. According to a release, "plans are underway for OASIS LIVE '25 to go to other continents outside of Europe later next year."
After years of enormous chart success and headlines in the British press due to the intense animosity between the Gallagher siblings, Oasis broke up in 2009. Noel, the band's main composer, left the group following a brawl with Liam backstage during a performance close to Paris. Since then, the brothers have not given a live performance; nonetheless, they frequently cover Oasis songs for their solo and side band concerts. They also continued to disparage one another in public and online until the news of their reunion.
Dig Out Your Soul, the seventh and last album by Oasis, debuted at number five on the Billboard 200 list in October 2008.
