Tyrese Haliburton, an All-Star guard, has signed a massive five-year, $260 million deal extension with the Pacers, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. Haliburton will stay in Indiana for the foreseeable future.

In each of his five NBA seasons, Haliburton, 23, has increased his scoring average, including a career-high 20.7 points per game in 2022–23. His assists have also risen, reaching a new career high of 10.4 per game from previous year.

By achieving this, Haliburton made NBA history by becoming just the 15th player to ever average 20 points and 10 assists per season. According to the Indianapolis Star, Haliburton's rumored contract will make him the highest-paid Pacers player in team history.

Indiana has a youthful, developing core of players that may be ready for breakthrough seasons in 2023–2024.
